  • Descrizione: Set in a drawing room, a magician performs a series of magic tricks in which people are seen to appear and disappear, change costume, replicate and change from men to women. He is assisted by several people, including acrobats, clowns and dancers. The film forms part of what is known as 'cinema of attractions', successor to the popular shows of the late nineteenth century. Beyond a simple narrative, the film seeks to astound and amaze the audience through a series of visual tricks: transformations, overlays, substitutions and reverse motion, among other effects.
